Akif Rahman

Founder & President

Akif Rahman founded Hambra Consulting (then called Intersoft) in May 2000 after many years of working for large consulting firms. Akif recognized a need in the marketplace for smarter technology delivery processes that ensured project success while lowering costs. He developed Hambra’s Integrated Delivery Methodology, a hybrid blend of onshore and offshore services, and used this model to differentiate Hambra in the systems integration sector. Under Akif’s leadership, Hambra has grown 100% each year since inception and now has offices in the U.S., India and Pakistan.

A noted expert in the onshore/offshore delivery of technology projects, Akif and partner Rahul Pasarnikar, have expanded Hambra’s offerings to include CRM implementation, custom application development, plus ongoing application management. They work closely with Hambra project teams and have fostered ongoing business relationships with clients like Countrywide Insurance, Life Time Fitness and National Home Improvement Company.

Prior to forming Hambra Consulting, Akif was with Inforte Corp. (INFT), a publicly held technology consulting firm, where he led large-scale projects for companies like Alcatel, Inuit and Peregrine Systems. He also spent three years at Ernst & Young as a member of the Center for Technology Enablement practice area, where he delivered leading-edge solutions to companies like Sun Microsystems, DEC, Nationwide, GE and AT&T Cable.

Prior to Ernst & Young, Akif managed technology projects at Trase Miller Solutions, a travel consulting company that helped companies like Royal Caribbean, Resort Condominiums International, and American Airlines utilize technology to improve performance and increase business. He also spent time with Rockwell Telecommunications earlier in his career.

A resident of the Chicago area, Akif has presented on various technology topics. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with an emphasis in theoretical computer science.
